概要 This study aimed to examine Japanese non-pregnant women's perception and attitude regarding prenatal tests. This study was an online survey using a self-administered questionnaire. This study’s participants were 1,576 women aged 20-49 years. We asked the participants about their decision making regarding undergoing prenatal tests if they were hypothetically to become pregnant. Of 1,576 respondents, 1,229 (78%) women would be able to decide whether to undergo prenatal tests (including women who would want to undergo them, and who would not want to undergo them), and 347 (22%) reported that they would not be able to decide whether to undergo them. Results from multivariable logistic regression revealed that significant associated factors were: low-knowledge about prenatal tests, no contact with persons with congenital abnormalities, not being able to decide whether to terminate if their fetuses were found to be abnormal, and willingness to welcome the opinions of others regarding undergoing prenatal tests.
